(043) Assessing Confidence in Caring for LGBTQ+ in Medicine and Teaching Acclimate Survey

Abstract Introduction Discrimination against LGBTQ+ individuals in West Virginia (WV) may compound the already poor health outcomes faced by all Virginians. Medical students across United States (US) report positive attitudes towards LGTBQ+ patients but do not feel adequately trained to provide proper care. schools and residency programs WV have begun incorporate training their curricula, effect on confidence is known. We preliminary survey results from resident physicians medical caring for patients. Objective Use data evaluate quantity quality of education residents assess its impact comfort treating Methods An anonymous was distributed via REDCap February June 2022 at a major school teaching hospital. The collected demographic information exposure undergraduate training, assessed with Likert Scale attitudes, comfort, providing informed care; many questions were adapted validated survey.
